Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the social aspect of psychological assessment in the context of legal psychology and to provide an overview of the issues that are most discussed in this area. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out that made it possible to select and scrutinize thirty-eight (38) publications. Therefore, it was observed that legal psychology is divided into several sub-areas. It was understood that legal psychology has been taking important steps to understand the subject in its entirety, however, it still lacks instruments, procedures and greater space in academic fields. It is suggested that the studies aim to bring a practical analysis of the performance of the legal psychologist, since, for the most part, they are materials that promote discussion through a theoretical analysis and not through research of the practical order.
